About Jeannette

Jeannette has been a student of yoga since 2003, and a teacher since 2014.

Jeannette loves yoga

Amongst many other things, yoga has taught her the willingness to look within, to pause and to respond rather than react. Her teaching and her own personal practice are a constantly evolving process that includes many different aspects of yoga.

Based on a desire to share all that she has learned,
Jeannette’s classes include various elements of a well-rounded practice: asana (postures) and intelligent physical alignment, pranayama (breath work), thoughtful sequencing, meditation and stillness.

Jeannette believes that by deepening our self-knowledge we begin to have choices, and when we have choices we can live more wisely. By creating a space that facilitates exploration, compassionate self-inquiry, and an appreciation of slowing down, her classes aim to empower students with the tools and knowledge to become self-aware, to master their own energy and to live life more skillfully.

Jeannette is a student of Rod Stryker’s ParaYoga, and has completed 400 hours of formal teacher training with Jeanne Heileman at YogaWorks and Annie Carpenter’s SmartFlow.

She is also a 200-hour RYT with Yoga Alliance, and has had the great fortune to learn from other inspiring teachers, including Mary Bruce, David Frawley, Christina Sell, Mary McDermott and Jules Mitchell.

“Come to the edge,” he said.
“We can’t, we’re afraid!” they responded.
“Come to the edge,” he said.
“We can’t, we will fall!” they responded.
“Come to the edge,” he said.
And so they came.
And he pushed them.
And they flew.”
